PPDS-742D-MTCP links three RS-232 devices and one RS-485 device to an Ethernet network, so existing serial equipment can be reached from PCs, SCADA and HMI systems without replacing it. The built-in virtual COM support lets software written for local COM ports keep working over the network, and the unit also acts as a Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway for Modbus TCP clients.
The unit is built around a programmable Xserver structure and the MiniOS7 runtime, so custom Ethernet logic can be added to the serial interfaces. Each serial port has ESD protection rated at +/-4 kV, and the RS-485 port uses a self-tuner ASIC controller. A watchdog timer supports operation in harsh environments.
Power can be supplied over Ethernet via IEEE 802.3af, Class 1 PoE, or from a +12 ~ 48 VDC terminal block. The removable terminal block and DIN-rail or wall mounting suit panel installation, and a single-LED power/PoE indicator plus a five-digit 7-segment display show status on the unit. This ordering code includes the CA-0910 cable.
