PCIe-S118 CR is a PCI Express x1 serial communication card that adds eight RS-232 ports to a host PC. Each port has its own 256-byte hardware FIFO and runs at rates from 2400 to 921600 bps, with full-duplex operation, so it suits serial devices that need steady throughput alongside other peripherals.
The card can be assigned an available COM port number automatically by the driver, or the COM port number can be chosen under software control. This makes it practical for engineers who need predictable port mapping when integrating several serial instruments into one system.
This ordering code includes one CA-PC62M D-Sub connector. It is intended for connecting bar code readers, serial printers, intelligent sensors, instrumentation and other equipment with an RS-232 port. Its short card design fits compact PC chassis.
