The ET-7217 CR is an Ethernet remote I/O module for engineers who need to acquire sensor signals and switch outputs over a Modbus network. It provides eight differential analogue inputs, each of which can be configured with its own range. Input type is set by jumper, so each channel can accept voltage or current, and the inputs are protected against overvoltage up to 240 Vrms.
On the network side, the module includes a 2-port 10/100 Base-TX switch with LAN bypass, which allows devices to be daisy-chained along a line. It supports Modbus TCP and Modbus UDP, and includes a built-in web server with web HMI, access control by ID, password and IP filter, and communication security features. The sampling rate can be switched between normal and fast modes.
The four digital outputs are isolated open-collector sink types with short-circuit and overload protection, and can be given programmable power-on and safe values. The module offers 2500 VDC I/O isolation and 4 kV ESD protection, and is designed for DIN-rail mounting over an operating range of -25 ~ +75 °C.
