The EIP-2060 is a remote digital I/O module that connects 6 digital inputs and 6 power relay outputs to an EtherNet/IP network. It works as an EtherNet/IP adapter, so it can be added to an existing Ethernet infrastructure without a separate fieldbus gateway. A 32-bit MCU handles network traffic, and the input channels can operate as counters.
Each digital input is a sink/source wet contact with an ON level of +5 VDC to +50 VDC and a frequency of 3 kHz, and each relay is rated at 5 A @ 250 VAC/24 VDC (resistive load). Two RJ-45 ports support daisy chaining, so the module can be placed along a line, in a star or in a ring topology. The ordering code EIP-2060 CR is the RoHS-compliant version listed in the ordering information.
Status is shown by LEDs for I/O and connection state. Power-on and safe values can be set for the relay outputs, and firmware can be updated over Ethernet. A software utility supplied by the manufacturer is available for configuring and testing the module via Ethernet.
