DS-2215i CR is a serial-to-Ethernet device server that brings an RS-422/485 serial device onto an Ethernet network without changing the device or its software. It can be run as a virtual COM port on Windows, as a TCP server or as a TCP client, and it can also link two serial devices across TCP/IP in a pair-connection setup.
The built-in 2-port Ethernet switch with LAN bypass allows daisy-chain wiring, which helps when locating devices and reducing cabling. The unit supports static IP or DHCP addressing, UDP-based discovery and a built-in web server for configuration. Power can come from PoE (IEEE 802.3af, Class 1) or from a +12 ~ 48 VDC terminal block.
The serial port is isolated, with 3000 VDC signal isolation, and the module is housed in a plastic DIN-rail enclosure rated for -25 ~ +75 °C operation. The VxComm Utility supports 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 SP1, 10, 2012 and 2016.
