The PROFI-2510 is a PROFIBUS repeater for engineers who need to join two or more PROFIBUS segments into one physical network or extend an existing installation. It works across the full range of PROFIBUS DP rates, from 9.6 kbps to 12 Mbps, without manual configuration because the transmission rate is detected automatically.
Using the repeater to split a long bus into segments lets you raise the maximum number of bus nodes beyond what a single segment allows. The 3000 VDC isolation on the PROFIBUS side and the network isolation protection help keep one segment electrically separated from another, and the 4 kV ESD protection on every terminal adds robustness during installation.
The unit mounts on a DIN-rail and is rated for an operating range of -25 to +75 °C, with a power consumption of 1 W. Status is shown by PWR, TxD and RxD LEDs, which make it easier to confirm activity on each side during commissioning and fault finding.
