I-7188EAD CR is a compact programmable automation controller for bridging serial devices onto Ethernet. It combines an 80188-40 CPU running the built-in MiniOS7 with 6 digital inputs, 7 open-collector outputs, a 10BASE-T Ethernet port and both RS-232 and RS-485 serial interfaces in a DIN-rail housing.
Engineers can develop custom logic in C using the supplied software development tool kits. Serial devices can be integrated into Ethernet and internet networks, and the controller can communicate with SCADA packages over the standard Modbus protocol, using the XServer and Modbus libraries provided.
The blue cover version (CR suffix) is the RoHS-compliant variant of the I-7188EAD, with a 5-digit 7-segment LED display for local status indication and a built-in watchdog timer to support unattended operation.
