EC4-ENC2IT is a slim EtherCAT SubDevice that reads incremental encoder pulse trains on two independent high-speed counter channels. It suits positioning feedback tasks where an engineer needs accurate position counts delivered over an EtherCAT network.
Each channel accepts A, B and C encoder signals in single-ended or differential form and supports CW/CCW, pulse/direction and A/B phase counting. The 12 V and 24 V input levels are set by jumper, the default is 5 V, and the polarity of the encoder inputs can be set by software for active high or active low operation. Each channel also has an adjustable digital input filter to suppress electrical noise.
Position compare and latch functions extend the module beyond simple counting. Each channel provides a 32-bit compare register with single, auto-increment and array compare modes, plus latch inputs that capture and clear the counter. The ordering code CR carries the RoHS designation.
