The iKAN-224A is a double-row industrial LED message display for engineers who need to show live PLC data or operator messages on a factory floor. Each of its two rows holds 24 ASCII or 12 Unicode characters, and it is configured through a web-based user interface. The ordering description for this code specifies Modbus protocol.
Messages can be stored in a pool of 128 common messages with user-defined priority levels, and text can be combined with up to 168 variables in a single message. The display uses a 16 cm text height and offers seven colours: red, blue, yellow, green, light blue, purple and white. An internal real-time clock provides date and time in a 24-hour format, and the Data Pool holds 40 coil values, 64 float values and 64 integer values.
The unit has two RJ-45 Ethernet ports and two RS-485 ports with Modbus RTU master/slave support, and it is powered from DC 5V. It is intended for wall mounting in an aluminium casing and is rated for operation from 0 to +60 °C. Note that the module is not RoHS compliant.
