The I-8411-G CR is a DOS-like embedded controller for distributed data acquisition and control. It runs the MiniOS7 operating system on an 80188 or compatible CPU at 40 MHz, and MiniOS7 boots in a very short time, typically 0.4 to 0.8 seconds. Built-in hardware diagnostics and a watchdog timer help keep unattended installations running.
Four slots accept I-8K and I-87K series modules, so the controller can be configured for digital, analogue, counter/frequency and motion I/O. Four serial ports provide two RS-232 ports, one RS-485 port and one port selectable between RS-232 and RS-485, suited to remote monitoring and control links. The CR suffix denotes the gray cover.
With S-256 (256 KB) or S-512 (512 KB) battery-backed SRAM, the controller can provide data logger storage. The unit is rated for an operating temperature of -25 ~ +75 °C and can be mounted on a DIN rail or on a wall.
