The I-2533CS-FD bridges two CAN or CAN FD networks over single-mode fibre. It converts the electrical CAN/CAN FD signal to optical transmission, so the physical length of a CAN segment is no longer limited by copper cabling. It is a practical choice where a CAN bus must span a site, a building or a distance beyond the reach of standard bus wiring.
Each network runs at its own bit rate, so the two sides can operate with different CAN or CAN FD baud rates. A bus error on one network does not disrupt the other, which helps keep faults contained. Basic CAN message routing is available through Group ID settings, and message filtering can be configured on the CAN side.
The unit mounts on a DIN-rail and is powered from +10 VDC to +30 VDC. Status LEDs show power, CAN activity and fibre status, and fibre broken-line detection is included. Firmware can be updated over USB.
