The EMP-2848M CR is a compact programmable automation controller that combines a SoftPLC with an integrated multi-axis motion control kernel, built around a configurable EtherCAT master. It suits small and medium-sized motion projects where installation space and cost are the limiting factors.
A quad-core Cortex-A53 processor running at 1.6 GHz and Real-Time Linux (RT-Preempt, Kernel 4.14.98) provides deterministic execution for motion tasks. The EtherCAT master updates up to 128 slaves, including 16 servo or stepper drives, within a 500 μs cycle time, and can connect to standard third-party EtherCAT slaves such as I/O, drives and encoders.
Programming is carried out in Win-GRAF, which supports all five IEC 61131-3 languages (SFC, ST, FBD, LD and IL) and allows several languages in one project. The integrated web server assists with EtherCAT network configuration, diagnostics and testing of motion functions.
