The MN-3257 CR is a Motionnet expansion module that adds 32 isolated digital outputs to a distributed control system. Each Motionnet transfer line can carry up to 64 modules, allowing output count to scale to 2048 channels on one line. Each module is updated automatically at a constant interval by the Motionnet system, so the controller does not need to poll it.
Each output is an open-collector sink type with an internal flywheel diode, rated at 200 mA maximum per channel and +30 VDC maximum load voltage. The flywheel diodes are grouped per port of 8 signals, and each port can be connected to a different power source. Interrupts can be set on chosen input points, which avoids wasted CPU time spent on repeated polling.
Isolation is provided between power, communication and I/O, rated at 3000 Vrms on the outputs. Two RJ-45 Motionnet connectors support daisy-chained wiring, transfer speed is selectable at 2.5, 5, 10 or 20 Mbps by DIP switch, and LED indicators show communication and I/O state. The plastic housing mounts on a DIN rail.
