The I-9720 CR bridges HART field devices and Modbus masters. It presents two HART channels to a Modbus RTU or ASCII master, so engineers can read HART device data without writing a dedicated HART driver. It is intended for use with Windows, WinCE and Linux 9K series PACs.
Wiring is simplified by the built-in HART loop power of +27 VDC and a 250 Ω, 2 W loop resistor, selectable via DIP switch. Both point-to-point and multi-drop HART topologies are supported, with up to 15 HART devices, and both short and long frame types are handled.
Configuration is carried out over USB Type C using the free HG_Tool, which is also used to monitor HART device data. LED indicators (PWR, RUN, E0, E1) and an RST button support commissioning and recovery.
