The F-8040 CR is a 32-channel digital input module from the iDCS-8830 redundancy I/O range. It accepts wet-contact signals from a DC voltage source and reports each channel's state, making it suited to monitoring large numbers of switches, sensors and relay contacts in redundant control architectures.
Each channel can be wired for sink or source input, so one module suits either wiring convention. All channels share a single COM connection. Inputs switch on at 18 VDC to 30 VDC and off at 11 VDC, and an adjustable low-pass filter from 1ms to 32767ms helps suppress contact bounce and noise. Channel LEDs show input status locally.
Isolation is rated at 3000 VDC from the inputs to the backplane and to frame ground, which keeps faults on field wiring from reaching neighbouring modules or the controller. Redundancy support with switching time below 100us is included, and the module is rated for operation from -25 °C to +75 °C.
