The ECAT-2012H is an EtherCAT SubDevice that brings 16-bit analogue inputs onto an EtherCAT network. Channels can be configured in software as 8 differential or 16 single-ended inputs, and each input accepts voltage or current signals across ranges from 0~10 V to ±20 mA and 4~20 mA. Input status is returned through the process data, so an EtherCAT Main Device or configurator can read it directly.
Two RJ-45 bus ports let modules be daisy-chained, which reduces cabling and simplifies installation. Star, line and ring topologies are all supported, with up to 100 m between stations over 100BASE-TX. The module has passed the EtherCAT conformance test tool, and its MCU handles network traffic efficiently with on-the-fly processing and a 1 ms cycle time.
The module suits machine builders and integrators working on semiconductor tools, metal forming, packaging, injection moulding, assembly systems, printing machines and robotics. Its removable terminal block, LED indicators and DIN-rail mounting make it straightforward to fit into control cabinets.
