The XP-8738-CE6 is a soft PLC controller from the Win-GRAF XPAC-8000-CE6 series. It combines a 1.0 GHz dual-core x86 CPU with Windows CE 6.0, so logic control runs alongside a PC-style display and operating environment. The seven I/O expansion slots accept high-profile I-8K parallel modules or I-87K serial modules, which makes this 7-slot model suited to larger, mixed I/O configurations.
Control logic is written in the embedded Win-GRAF SoftLogic environment, which follows the IEC 61131-3 standard. Windows CE 6.0 gives hard real-time capability for deterministic control. HMI and data management applications can be built with Visual Studio 2008 (VB .NET or C#) and exchange data with the Win-GRAF logic. A VGA output drives a local display at resolutions up to 1024 × 768.
The controller provides two 10/100/1000 Base-TX Ethernet ports, several RS-232 and RS-485 serial ports, four USB 2.0 ports and dual redundant power inputs. Redundancy features include support for a dual-PAC redundant system. The unit is rated for -25 ~ +75°C operation and is listed as RoHS compliant. It mounts on DIN-rail or by wall mounting.
