The RCM-MTCP CR is a redundant communication module for the RIO-9830 remote I/O system. It runs a Modbus/TCP server, so a Modbus/TCP client can access and monitor all I/O data of the RIO-9830 over Ethernet without custom integration work.
Commissioning and fault finding are supported on the module itself. A seven-segment display shows exception codes, LEDs indicate power, faults and link activity, and a rotary switch sets the network IP address. An SD card is included to record abnormal events for troubleshooting and later analysis.
The module provides 3000 VDC isolation between the backplane and external signals, which suits electrically noisy industrial sites. Because the system can be fitted with two communication modules, the RIO-9830 can continue operating if one module fails.
