The CAN-8424-G is a DeviceNet remote I/O unit built around a modular backplane with four slots, so engineers can assemble the I/O mix their application needs. It suits data acquisition and control tasks where a DeviceNet network needs local I/O under a single controller.
Configuration is handled with the CAN-8424 Utility, which connects through the RS-232 utility port. The tool generates the EDS file for the I/O modules fitted, so the unit can be integrated into a DeviceNet scan list without manual device description work.
