The XP-8131-WES7 CR is a 1-slot Windows PAC for engineers who need a single controller that handles computing, operator display and local I/O. It runs Windows Embedded Standard 7 SP1 (32-bit) on a 1 GHz dual-core x86 CPU with 2 GB DDR3 SDRAM, so it suits HMI, data acquisition and control tasks in one device.
Connectivity covers dual 10/100/1000 Base-TX Ethernet, VGA output, four USB 2.0 ports and four serial COM ports, including RS-485 with 3000 VDC isolation. The local slot accepts I-8K or I-87K series I/O modules, and remote expansion is possible through Ethernet and RS-485 I/O modules.
Because WES7 uses the same Win32 API as Windows 7, many popular desktop applications can be run on the unit. The redundant power inputs with an alarm relay and dual watchdog timer support reliable operation in demanding installations.
