The XP-8331-CE6 is a standard programmable automation controller built around a 1 GHz dual-core x86 CPU and Windows CE 6.0. It offers three expansion slots for high-profile I-8K parallel and I-87K serial I/O modules, so engineers can scale the I/O count to suit a control panel without changing the controller platform.
Windows CE 6.0 provides hard real-time capability, a small core footprint, fast boot and deterministic control. The unit includes 2 GB DDR3 memory, 32 GB flash, 16 KB EEPROM and 512 KB MRAM for data retention, along with a built-in real-time clock and dual watchdog timer. A 64-bit hardware serial number supports software copy protection, and the software stack includes .NET Compact Framework 3.5 and an SDK DLL for Visual Studio .NET 2005/2008.
Connectivity includes two 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet ports, serial ports for RS-232 and RS-485, four USB 2.0 host ports and a VGA output. The controller accepts +10 ~ 30 VDC with redundant power inputs and operates from -25 ~ +75 °C. It is supplied with CE, UKCA, FCC, RoHS and WEEE documentation and can be mounted on a DIN rail or wall.
