VP-1231-CE7 CR is a ViewPAC that brings computing, I/O and operator interface into one panel-mounted unit. Its 5.7-inch 640 x 480 TFT display with resistive touch panel lets operators work directly on the machine, while the controller handles logic and data acquisition in the same housing.
The 1 GHz Cortex-A8 processor runs Windows CE 7.0, which is a componentised, hard real-time operating system. Memory includes 512 MB SDRAM, 256 MB Flash and a microSD slot for storage of up to 32 GB, with 128 KB MRAM and 16 KB EEPROM for retaining data. The unit also provides a built-in real-time clock, a 64-bit hardware serial number for software protection and a dual watchdog timer.
Local expansion uses three I/O slots that accept I-8K and I-87K series modules. Connectivity comprises one 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet port, one RS-232 and one RS-485 port (2500 VDC isolated) and one USB 2.0 host port. The fanless design has a front panel rated NEMA 4/IP65 and an operating range of -20 ~ +70 °C.
