The USB-2055 CR adds 8 digital inputs and 8 digital outputs to a PC or Linux host over a single USB 2.0 Full-Speed connection. It draws its power from the USB bus, so no external supply is needed, and it works as plug-and-play without a driver. This makes it a practical choice for I/O expansion on engineering workstations, test rigs and embedded USB hosts.
Each digital input can be wired for dry or wet contact, and all inputs can be used as 32-bit counters. The outputs are open-collector, sink (NPN) type rated at 650 mA per channel. The 16 LED indicators show the state of each input and output, and the power-on and safe values of the outputs are programmable.
The ordering code includes a 1.5M USB cable (CA-USB15). A utility tool is provided for configuration and I/O testing, and an API library with demos and source code supports development in VB, C++, C#.NET, VB.NET and LabVIEW.
