The M-7017Z-G CR is a 16-bit analog input module for RS-485 networks, accepting up to 10 differential or 20 single-ended channels. Each channel can be given its own input range, and voltage or current input is selected by jumper, so one module can serve a mixed set of field sensors and transmitters.
High input protection is the main reason to choose this variant. Each channel tolerates 240 Vrms overvoltage and is protected against 50 mA overcurrent at 110 VDC, with ±200 VDC common-voltage protection, 4 kV ESD protection and 3000 VDC intra-module isolation. Open wire detection is available on 4 ~ 20 mA inputs, and the sampling rate can be switched between normal (10 Hz) and fast (60 Hz) modes.
The module communicates over RS-485 using Modbus RTU or DCON, configured in software, at 1200 ~ 115200 bps. The gray-cover version is listed as RoHS compliant, and its hardware specifications match those of the I-7017Z.
