The LP-9821 CR is a Linux-based programmable automation controller built around a 1 GHz Cortex-A8 processor running Linux kernel 3.2.14. It accepts up to eight expansion modules from the I-9K (parallel-type) and I-97K (serial-type) series, making it suited to distributed I/O projects where the controller must sit alongside a broad mix of field signals.
Connectivity is handled by two 10/100/1000M Ethernet ports, four isolated serial ports (RS-232/RS-485, one of them doubling as a console), two USB 2.0 host ports and VGA output. Redundant power inputs are fitted, with a relay providing an alarm contact. Applications can be stored on an SD card or USB mass storage device, and the embedded web, FTP, Telnet and SSH servers allow remote management.
Development is supported by the LinPAC SDK, which provides a GCC-based toolchain and LinPAC libraries for writing I/O applications in GNU C. The LP-9821 CR is supplied in a metal case and is RoHS compliant.
