The I-8123W-G CR adds a CANopen master port to compatible ICP DAS WinPAC, ViewPAC and XPAC controllers over the parallel bus. It is intended for engineers who need a CANopen master on an existing PAC without a separate gateway, and it communicates with slave devices using the CiA 301 v4.02 specification.
The module uses an NXP SJA1000T CAN controller with an 82C250/251-class transceiver, and provides a single CAN port on a 5-pin screw terminal connector with a built-in 120Ω terminating resistor. Scan, listen and event-monitoring functions help with commissioning and supervising a live network, while dynamic PDO mapping and several SYNC modes allow the process data exchange to be tuned to the application.
Electrical isolation is rated at 3000 VDC for DC-to-DC and 2500 Vrms for the photo-coupler. The module also supports the CANopen Motion Library, which follows CiA 402 and covers position, velocity, torque and synchronised control. Drivers are provided for WinPAC, ViewPAC, XPAC and XPAC-CE6, with SDK support for eVC++4.0, VC++, VB.net and C#.net.
