The uPAC-5001D is a compact programmable automation controller built around an 80186 CPU running at 80 MHz under the MiniOS7 framework. It suits engineers who need to bring serial field devices onto an Ethernet network, with one 10/100 Base-TX port alongside an RS-232 and an RS-485 port for device connections.
Application code is written in C using the supplied software development toolkits, including Modbus libraries, so that data from serial equipment can be exposed to SCADA packages over the standard Modbus protocol. Storage comprises 512 KB of Flash, 16 KB of EEPROM and a microSD slot that accepts cards of up to 32 GB.
For local hardware expansion, the controller provides an I/O expansion bus that accepts XW-board modules. Local feedback comes from a 5-digit 7-segment LED display and two programmable status LEDs, and the unit has redundant power inputs for a supply range of +12 ~ 48 VDC. This ordering code is the RoHS-compliant version.
