The RSM-405FC is a five-port industrial Ethernet switch for building redundant ring topologies in control and automation networks. Three shielded RJ-45 ports run at 10/100Base-TX, and two 100Base-FX ports take multi-mode fibre with SC connectors, so a ring can span longer runs between cabinets or buildings.
Its built-in Cyber-Ring technique lets several switches form a redundant ring. A copper link failure is typically detected and recovered within approximately 20 ms. Redundancy mode and maximum recovery time are set with DIP switches, and the unit accepts two DC supplies at the same time, with the second acting as backup if one fails. A relay output signals power or network link failures.
The ordering code RSM-405FC CR includes the 4SNPNA010021G wall-mount kit, so the switch can be fitted to a DIN rail or mounted on a wall. The metal casing is rated IP30 and operates from 0 °C to +70 °C.
