The PPDS-755-MTCP links up to five serial devices, one RS-232 and four RS-485, to an Ethernet network. Its built-in Virtual COM driver lets software on a Windows PC use the device's serial ports as standard COM ports, so existing serial applications can be extended across the network without rewriting them.
The unit runs the MiniOS7 operating system and includes a programmable Xserver structure for building custom Ethernet applications. It can also act as a Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway, allowing Modbus TCP SCADA or HMI systems to communicate with Modbus RTU or ASCII slave devices on the serial side. Power can be supplied over a standard Category 5 cable via IEEE 802.3af PoE (Class 1) or from a +12 ~ 48 VDC terminal block.
This plastic-cased version suits DIN-rail or wall installation. Its removable terminal block simplifies wiring in industrial cabinets. The package includes a CA-0910 cable.
