USB-2255-32 is a USB 2.0 I/O module that adds 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs to a PC over a single USB connection. Each input can be wired for dry or wet contact, and every input can also run as a 32-bit counter, which suits pulse and event counting tasks.
The module's two USB ports let several units share one PC port in a daisy chain of up to five nodes, which helps where USB ports are scarce. Power can come from a +10 to +30 VDC terminal block, and the dual watchdog with programmable power-on and safe output values keeps outputs in a defined state. Because the module is plug-and-play, no driver installation is needed.
- Configuration and I/O testing are supported by a setup tool, and an API library with demos is provided for VB, C++, C#.NET, VB.NET and LabVIEW.
- Software support is listed for 32/64-bit Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11, as well as Linux.
- The ordering code includes a 1.8 m lockable USB cable (CA-USB-AC2-L018).
