The ISO-DA8 CR is an ISA bus analogue output card for PC/AT compatible computers. It provides eight 14-bit channels with optical isolation rated for up to 2500 VDC common-mode voltage, so it suits programmable source and loop-driving tasks where field wiring must be kept apart from the PC.
Each channel can be configured in software as a voltage output or a 4 ~ 20 mA current sink. Output type (unipolar or bipolar) and range, covering 0 ~ 5 V, ±5 V, 0 ~ 10 V and ±10 V, are set by software. The card uses a double-buffered D/A latch and a command set for programming, and its calibration is performed in software with data stored in EEPROM, so there are no jumpers or trimpots to adjust.
The board also provides 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs at 5 V/TTL levels, plus three 16-bit timer/counter channels. A power-on value for each output can be predefined and held in the on-board EEPROM. A CA-4002 D-Sub connector is included, and the card draws 800 mA from +5 V with an operating range of 0 ~ +60°C.
