I-8431 CR is a 4-slot Ethernet embedded controller that runs the MiniOS7 operating system, a DOS-like embedded OS, on an 80188-compatible CPU clocked at 40 MHz. It accepts I-8K and I-87K series I/O modules in its four slots, making it a compact choice for distributed data acquisition and control.
The controller provides one RJ-45 Ethernet port and three serial COM ports, two RS-232 and one RS-232/RS-485. Its built-in watchdog timer, 64-bit hardware serial number and input protection circuitry support reliable operation in the field. The CR ordering code is the blue-cover version of the I-8431.
Optional S-256 or S-512 battery-backed SRAM accessories add data logger storage. Typical deployments include environment monitoring, power management and factory automation.
