HRT-310 CR is a HART master to Modbus slave gateway. It lets a Modbus master access HART field devices, such as transmitters and actuators, so their data can be brought into an existing Modbus network without custom HART handling. The HG_Tool software is provided for module configuration and HART device diagnosis.
The gateway supports HART short and long frames, burst mode and point-to-point or multi-drop topologies, with up to 15 HART devices. Two HART masters can be allowed, and HART devices can be replaced on-line. The Modbus side offers RTU and ASCII formats in slave mode over RS-232 (3-wire), RS-422 or RS-485.
Typical use is integrating HART flow meters into an HMI or SCADA system. Each HART device appears to the host as a Modbus slave, so the host can use its built-in Modbus RTU communication to read the devices directly.
