VEX-114 CR is a PCI Express x1 serial communication board that adds four RS-232 ports to a host PC. Each port has a 128-byte hardware FIFO and supports full-duplex communication at up to 115200 bps, making it suited to connecting bar code readers, serial printers, intelligent sensors and instrumentation.
A built-in 8-bit DIP switch COM-Selector lets you assign COM port numbers manually, or you can leave it to the driver to choose free numbers automatically. Under Windows, the driver provides up to 128 KB of software buffer per COM port, which helps with large file transfers. The card uses a short design and terminates in a DB-37 female connector, with one CA-4002 connector included.
The isolation and ESD protection features described for the i versions of the VEX series do not apply to this CR ordering code.
