PPDS-720-MTCP is a programmable device server that brings serial devices onto an Ethernet network. It provides one RS-232 port and one RS-485 port, and the removable on-board terminal block simplifies wiring in industrial installations. Ordering code PPDS-720-MTCP CR includes a CA-0910 cable.
The unit can present its built-in COM ports as standard COM ports on a Windows PC using the VxComm utility, which supports 32/64-bit Windows 7 SP1, 10, 2012 and 2016. Its built-in MiniOS7 runs a programmable Xserver structure for custom Ethernet applications, and it works as a Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway for SCADA and HMI systems that communicate over Modbus TCP.
The device accepts power either from a PoE switch under IEEE 802.3af, Class 1, using a standard category 5 cable, or from a +12 ~ 48 VDC terminal block supply. It is a DIN-rail or wall-mounted unit rated for an operating temperature of -25 ~ +75 °C.
