LP-8421 CR is a 4-slot programmable automation controller that runs Linux kernel 3.2.14 on a 1 GHz Cortex-A8 processor with 512 MB DDR3 SDRAM. It suits engineers who want to develop control logic in a Linux environment, using the standard LinPAC SDK for Windows and Linux with GNU C, and who need to add parallel and serial I/O through the I-8KW and I-87KW series.
The controller includes embedded web, FTP, Telnet and SSH servers, a 4 GB microSD card with support for up to 32 GB microSDHC, 512 MB flash and 512 KB MRAM for retained data. Two dual watchdog timers, a real-time clock and a 64-bit hardware serial number for software copy protection support reliable unattended operation.
Communication options include two RJ-45 Ethernet ports, four COM ports (including an isolated RS-485 port rated at 3000 VDC), two USB 2.0 host ports and VGA output up to 1280 x 1024. Redundant power inputs with an alarm relay are provided, and the unit can be mounted on DIN-rail or wall. It is rated for -25 ~ +75 °C operation.
