The I-7016D CR converts signals from full-bridge strain gauges and load cells into digital values over RS-485 using the DCON protocol. It offers two strain gauge input channels, each configurable for voltage or current ranges, and a 5-digit 7-segment LED display for local reading.
A user-defined linear mapping table lets the module convert raw measurements directly into engineering units such as weight, so the host system receives scaled data. The module also provides one 0 to +10 V excitation output rated for up to 40 mA, one digital input with a 50 Hz event counter, and four open-collector digital outputs that can be set for general use or high/low alarms.
This 4-wire variant is suited to short cable runs, as the source specifies distances below 10 metres. For long-distance measurement, where cable losses affect accuracy, the 6-wire I-7016P(D) series with excitation voltage sensing is the intended alternative.
