The ECAT-M801-16AX CR is a PCI Express EtherCAT MainDevice board that gives a PC direct control of up to 16 motion axes over EtherCAT. Its built-in CPU handles the axis and I/O processing, which lowers the load on the host PC and keeps timing deterministic for motion applications.
The board combines EtherCAT motion control with 13 digital inputs, 13 digital outputs and two encoder interfaces on a single card. Synchronised motion functions such as E-GEAR and E-CAM, virtual axes and multi-axis linear interpolation are supported, with EtherCAT cycle times down to 0.5 ms and up to 512 nodes on the network.
A second CPU provides EtherCAT communication retention, so the network connection and process recipe are maintained even if the operating system or an application crashes. This ordering code is supplied without cable and daughter board.
